Funds will go directly to support Music Minds Matter, with Help Musicians advising that they have seen a significant rise in the numbers of people seeking support since the pandemic.

11 July 2022

The newly established Christopher Meredith Foundation (CMF) announces its first donation directing funds to anyone working within the music industry facing mental health difficulties. A career within the music industry comes with unique challenges with unsociable hours, performance pressure, high expectations and unpredictable rewards all having an impact. The CMF believe there is a need to highlight how challenging it can be within this beautiful, creative and diverse environment and seek to work in partnership with other charities and organisations to provide support and resources to those in need.

Run by Help Musicians, Music Minds Matter offers direct and confidential support, information and resources to those experiencing difficulties. Requests for support have grown significantly since the start of the pandemic, with over 30% more enquiries for help so far in 2022.

We are excited to support the excellent work that James and his team at Music Minds Matter are delivering to those in the music industry facing mental health issues. We hope this will be the beginning of a long and successful partnership
